STRENGTHS AND STRATEGIES

Competitive strengths and business strategies are easy to understand, yet hard to duplicate. We show you ours.

OUR COMPETITIVE STRENGTHS
Comprehensive in-house engineering capability

Most of the customised equipment used in our projects is designed in-house. Our in-house design capability enables us to develop practical solutions that are innovative and cost effective. We have also developed strong relationships with our technology partners and are able to effectively capitalise on their technical expertise.

Competitive cost structure

To lower our production costs, we maintain a small but effective team of engineers and support staff to carry out large scale and technically complex projects, and outsource capital intensive fabrication work to third party fabricators. Having a resilient organisational structure with stable permanent key staff as our core management team supported by contract staff and consultants allows us to expand or reduce our staffing requirements according to the number of projects we undertake. This lowers our capital investment, enhances our return on equity and allows us to maintain competitive pricing for our tenders and be selective in our bidding process and choice of contracts.

Established track record

We have established a track record of over 25 years in providing EPC services. Over the years, we have completed various water and wastewater treatment projects and hydro-engineering projects in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines. We have built a strong reputation in Singapore and developed valuable business contacts in the region which would enable us to penetrate their markets and continue to grow in the face of competition.

Our experienced management team

Our key management team members each has over 20 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects and hydro-engineering projects.

Our Managing Director, Mr Tan Tze Wen is involved in establishing the corporate strategy of our Group and is instrumental in the growth and development of our business. Mr Tan Tze Wen and our directors, Mr Tan Hun Tee and Mr Ganapathy Neelakantan, are involved in the technical operations of our Group and have designed and engineered several of our water and wastewater treatment equipment and systems.

Our knowledge of the markets

Since the start of our business operations, we have expanded our customer base to Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines. Over the years, we have accumulated substantial knowledge of the markets we have served as well as the pool of suppliers and sub-contractors available to meet the specific requirements of each project we undertake. We believe that our track record and the experience and knowledge gained will enable us to continue to expand our market reach and penetrate new markets.

Chain
OUR BUSINESS STRATEGIES
Expanding our customer base

We intend to intensify our marketing efforts to diversify our customer base by undertaking more private industrial water and wastewater treatment projects. To date, we have focused mainly on public sector water and wastewater infrastructure projects and projects financed by the World Bank and other international financial institutions. We intend to undertake more private sector projects such as industrial effluent treatment systems through intensifying our marketing activities to potential private sector customers in the region.

Develop our regional markets

Our current focus is primarily on the Singapore market. Our Directors believe that the recent growth in the region’s economy will fuel demand for water and wastewater treatment projects and hydro engineering projects and provide more opportunities for our Group in this industry. We intend to leverage on our business contacts in Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and India to tap into such opportunities in these countries.

Continue to strengthen our engineering design capabilities

We intend to maintain our competitive edge by strengthening our engineering design capabilities for water and wastewater treatment projects. To this end, we intend to continue to leverage on the research and development capabilities of TIFAC Centre of Relevance and Excellence in Environmental Engineering, our technology partners and academic institutions to strengthen our ability to undertake specific and more complex design projects.

Expansion of business through strategic alliances, joint venture or mergers and acquisitions

To further expand our business, we may enter into strategic alliances, joint ventures or mergers and acquisitions where opportunities arise. We may also acquire new technology which will enhance our existing business and widen our capability in water and wastewater treatment and hydro-engineering.
