1970s

|
Our Company was incorporated on 20 January 1975 in Singapore.
Our first major water supply contract secured was for the Western Catchment Water Scheme project awarded by the PUB (“Public Utilities Board”) in 1977.

1980s
|
|
Our first major water treatment project was for the Bedok and Seletar Water Scheme project awarded by the PUB. Our work involved the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of sludge thickener equipment, pump station equipment and barrage gate systems.
In 1987, we completed our first major project for wastewater treatment which involved the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of primary and secondary sedimentation tanks equipment for Ulu Pandan Sewerage Treatment Works for the ENV.
That same year, capitalising on our established track record in water and wastewater treatment projects, we expanded our operations to Indonesia. We have since completed various water and wastewater treatment projects in Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Solo and Cirebon in Java, and Medan in Sumatra, both for the government and private industries.

1990s
|
|
In 1992, we secured a sub-contract for one of the largest water projects in Indonesia, Pejompangan Raw Water Pipeline Project, supplying water to Jakarta.
During the early 1990s, we also expanded our water and wastewater treatment business activities to Philippines and Thailand where we supplied both treatment equipment and provided engineering services in water and wastewater treatment projects.
In 1996, to capitalise on the water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Indonesia, we began the process of setting up Metax Indonesia, which was subsequently incorporated in October 1998.
In 1997, we secured several water and wastewater treatment projects in Singapore projects such as Sembawang Abstraction Pond project, Packaged Sewerage Treatment Plant for St. John Island’s Aquaculture Centre, Grease Treatment Plant for Housing Development Board (“HDB”) food factories in Bedok and Bedok Waterworks’ Rock Alum Saturator Tanks project.

2002 - 2003
|
|
In February 2002, we achieved a major milestone when we were awarded a $64.5 million contract for the Changi Water Reclamation Plant (“CWRP”) project by the PUB.
Subsequently, we also secured two additional sub-contracts worth over $20 million for the same project.
We were also awarded ISO 9001 certificatation in environmental engineering assessed by European Quality Assurance Limited. The ISO certification is a testimony of our Company’s commitment to delivering quality services and products to our customers.

2004
|
|
In 2004, following the gradual recovery of the regional economies, we secured some private wastewater treatment projects in Indonesia and Thailand and entered into a purchase and supply agreement with a company in India for the sale and marketing of consumer water purification products in Singapore and Indonesia on an exclusive basis.

2005
|
|
In February 2005, we secured a sub-contract for the Marina Barrage project which is a three-in-one project by the PUB to create a new reservoir to supplement Singapore’s water. It will also acts as a tidal barrier for flood control and serves as a recreational resource for water-based activities.
In August 2005, we secured another sub-contract for the Marina Barrage project.

2006
|
|
On 27th of February, shares in the capital of Metax Engineering Corporation Limited were first traded on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited Dealing and Automated Quotation System (the "SGX Sesdaq"), the secondary board of the Singapore Stock Exchange.
