MANGALAM-EASTERN COMMON EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANTS
|
|
Located in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu State, India, Metax supplies end-to-end, two plants, which are designed to attain zero-discharge in treating textile wastewater effluents. The zero discharge process envisages the pre-treatment of the effluents to appropriate standards, RO membrane process for the reduction of total dissolved solids and disposal of the RO process rejects. The recovered water would then be recycled for re-use by the industries, which results in reduced costs and pollution abatement.
Tirupur is an industrial town located about 450 km South West of the city of Chennai (one of the four metropolises of India) in Tamil Nadu State and is one of India’s top garment export centers with an estimated export turnover of more than US$1.5 billion annually. There are more than 800 dyeing and bleaching companies in and around Tirupur which are engaged in dyeing and bleaching operations of yarn and fabric.
Metax Engineering will collaborate with Nuchem Limited on the waste water treatment plants. They are a major player in the environmental and water management industry in India. The RO plants will comprise effluent wastewater treatment and recycling, using RO membrane technology to attain zero liquid discharge and will have a total capacity to treat 10,000 m3 of wastewater effluents per day.
The contracts were awarded to Metax by the Mangalam-Eastern Water Recycling Company Limited. The developer of the Project is TWICL, a joint venture company between the Tamil Nadu Government and the Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services.

THE MARINA BARRAGE PROJECT
|
|
The Marina Barrage is an ambitious three-in-one project by the Public Utilities Board of Singapore which will create a new body of freshwater, act as a tidal barrier for flood control and serve as a recreational resource for water-based activities for Singaporeans.
We were awarded two sub-contracts from Koh Brothers Building and Civil Engineering Contractors to supply and install the seven main drainage pump-sets systems and related equipment as well as other hydro-engineering equipment.

CHANGI WATER RECLAMATION PLANT
|
|
CWRP is part of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System implemented by the Singapore government to serve the wastewater treatment and disposal needs of Singapore. This World record breaking sewerage system project will be able to handle 2,400,000 m3/day.
Metax has secured one main contract from the Public Utilities Board of Singapore and two sub-contracts from Sembcorp Engineers and Constructors and Koh Brothers Building and Civil Engineering Contractors.
As main contractor we are one of the suppliers of engineering and procurement services to the PUB, which includes equipment supply, installation and commissioning as well as providing servicing and maintenance services after the completion of our project and upon plant operation.
We work closely with our German Technology partners, Westfalia Separator Umwelttechnik GmbH, who are the manufacturers of the 30 nos. of thickening and dewatering centrifuges.

At our CWRP site office location we have set up drafting and small-scale workshop facilities to ensure the smooth running of the projects.
As subcontractors we supply 108 nos. of Stainless Steel 316 Rectangular Butterfly Gates, of which the largest measures 10 Meters tall in dimension.

Butterfly gates are designed by our technology partners Tyco Valves BV in the Netherlands and fabricated under close supervision from Lloyds' Register of shipping, Tyco Valves and Metax Engineering at the Godrej and Boyce factory in India, where they are fabricated and performance tested. Metax also carries out their installation, testing and commissioning at site in Singapore.

PT INDO-BHARAT RAYON and THAI RAYON PUBLIC COMPANY LTD
|
|
PT Indo-Bharat Rayon is one of the largest producers of Viscose Staple Fibre (Semi-Synthetic Fabric) in Indonesia, discharging 24,000 m3/day effluent waste.
Metax was awarded the Contract in 1992 for their very large capacity Industrial Waste Water Treatment Project (WWTP), which was successfully completed in 1994.
Ever since then, the plant has consistently performed and met all the regulatory effluent discharge standards without exceptions.
Based on the good performance of the WWTP, Indo-Bharat Rayon recommended Metax when their sister company, Thai Rayon Public Company Ltd in Thailand, went in for expansion in 2005.
Based on our track record and performance, Metax was awarded the contract for the Thai Rayon WWTP expansion in Thailand upon the recommendation of Indo-Bharat Rayon.
Subsequently, when Indo-Bharat Rayon went in for expansion of another 1,000 m3/hour effluent waste treatment during that same period, they awarded the contract to Metax.
These Waste Water Treatment Plants were completely engineered and process designed by Metax, including Equipment supply (such as primary and secondary clarifiers and sludge thickeners, surface aerators and other related equipment), installation, testing and commissioning.
Over the years we have constructed a variety of clarifiers in many countries for both the public sector municipalities (mainly for the treatment of sewage) and private sector industries (mainly for the treatment of their industrial waste water effluent), which range in sizes of as small as 3 meters to as large as 60 meters in diameter. Clarifiers come in many shapes and sizes and we have become specialists in this field.
